Raised in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Griffiths graduated with a B.S. in both biology and English from Neumann University in 1991 and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996 from Kansas State University.
After graduating from Kansas State University, he moved to Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, where he practiced small animal medicine for four years. Dr. Griffiths joined Metzger Animal Hospital in 2001 and his special medical interests include emergency medicine, diagnostic imaging, feline medicine and advanced veterinary dentistry. Dr. Griffiths attends advanced continuing education in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine and enjoys helping people and their pets anytime day or night. http://acvecc.org/
Dr. Griffiths, wife Laurie, daughter Claire and son Dominic reside in State College with two cats (Squish and Clarisse) and a rescued golden retriever (Chance). Dr. Griffiths’ outside interests include writing, basketball, and riding roller coasters. Prior to veterinary school John worked at Boeing as a licensed electrician and spent 6 proud years as a United States Marine.
